Convert between pixels, inches, centimeters, millimeters, points, and more. Calculate DPI/PPI for printing, web design, and digital media.
| Usage | Resolution | DPI/PPI | Quality Level | File Size (Approx) |

Convert pixels to physical units (inches, cm, mm) and vice versa. Switch between conversion modes easily.
Calculate print and screen resolutions with different DPI/PPI settings. Includes common presets for web and print.
Quickly select from common screen resolutions for web, mobile, HD, 4K, and other standard formats.
Maintain aspect ratios while converting. Choose from common ratios or set custom ratios.
Visual quality indicator shows if your resolution is suitable for web, small prints, or large format printing.
Estimate file sizes for different color modes (RGB, CMYK) and compression formats (JPEG, PNG).
Pixels are the smallest addressable elements in a digital image. They are dimensionless units that represent a single color value. Resolution in pixels defines how much detail an image contains.
PPI (Pixels Per Inch): Digital screens - determines screen sharpness.
DPI (Dots Per Inch): Printing - determines print quality. Higher DPI means more ink dots per inch, resulting in sharper prints.
Pixels to Inches: inches = pixels ÷ DPI
Inches to Pixels: pixels = inches × DPI
Centimeters to Pixels: pixels = (cm × DPI) ÷ 2.54
Low resolution images appear pixelated when printed large. High resolution images have more detail but larger file sizes. The right balance depends on your use case (web vs print).
72-96 PPI is standard for web. Facebook cover: 820 × 312px, Instagram post: 1080 × 1080px, Twitter header: 1500 × 500px.
300 DPI minimum for quality prints. Business card: 3.5" × 2" at 300 DPI = 1050 × 600px. A4 poster: 8.3" × 11.7" at 300 DPI = 2490 × 3510px.
Design at 1×, 2×, and 3× sizes for different screen densities. iPhone app icon: 1024 × 1024px (marketing), 180 × 180px (app store).
Typically 72-150 PPI depending on viewing distance. 4K digital sign: 3840 × 2160px. Consider lower PPI for large signs viewed from afar.
